Hobart's Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens are just a short drive from the city, and while not large, contain a wealth of botanical beauty. It is located on a hillside with some steep paths but generally is easy to walk around. It contains a number of speciality displays including a conservatory, Japanese Garden and a vegetable area that relates to the ABC gardening program.
There is an information area and cafe in the visitor area. There is even a floral clock to help you keep track of the time.
