Intercepts flow in
Gungarlin River, diverting it into a 2.4m diameter and 1260 m long buried pipeline which is the aqueduct. Maximum discharge capacity is 14.7 cumecs. This empties into the
Burrungubugge Intake where siphons transfer the water into the Eucumbene-Snowy tunnel.
A pleasant 4 km return bushwalk to the weir in a little visited part of
Kosciuszko National Park. Park at the
locked gate at turnoff to
Island Bend Firetrail. Pass
Burrungubugge Intake and walk on the access track with a gentle grade of 1 in 100, matching the hydraulic grade.
