Let them know your requirements when booking as many of the sites can't accommodate a camper trailer. The
campground is privately run, but is just inside the National Park (national park fees apply). The park feels like you are in bushland rather than a caravan park. They allow open fires in the BBQ area that each site has (you can buy wood at kiosk - but can't collect wood as in National Park).
There are kangaroos, possums and currawongs that roam the park (which the kids love - but keep your food sealed!). In winter use the
campground as a base for skiing - it is a 15 minute drive to the ski slopes from
Sawpit Creek. In Summer use it as a base for bushwalking - there are several bushwalks that leave from the park itself and it is only a 30 minute drive to Mount Kosi walk and the must do
Blue Lake walk. There is mobile reception which was fine for voice and text messages, but struggled when it came to using internet on a laptop. There is good mobile internet reception (and full town shopping facilities) 15 minutes drive down the mountain in
Jindabyne.
Amenities are good - VERY HOT SHOWERS untimed and no additional cost are brilliant after skiing. There is a big
camp kitchen area with large fireplace and lounges as
well as regular cooking facilities. This place is a gem.
