This area consists of private walk-in and drive-in
camp sites surrounded by natural rain forest, with access to walking and canoeing opportunities along Water Park Creek. It is located 4 km from the turn-off from
Byfield Road, along the access road to the
Byfield National Park. It includes a
day use area with picnic tables and gas barbecues. Composting
toilets and non potable water are provided. There are also Kookaburras that will steal your lunch if you are not careful.
The
camping area can be reached by conventional vehicle. It is accessible for trailers; caravans; small motor homes. Camping permits are required and fees apply. A tag with your booking number must be displayed at your
camp site.
The two wheel drive section of this road extends to the Banksia car park and
information shelter, just inside the National Park boundary. The road from there is strictly high clearance four wheel drive with low range. There are water crossings and steep sand hills before
the beach is reached.
Beware of crocodiles.
