This island was named after me since when Bill and Bob Mossel and I boated through the channel between Lake Eyre south and North when both lakes were flooded, the island gave us a dry
campsite for the night. We also camped on Brook Island - it was in the middle of the sea, with large waves and all. Its hard to believe there is a 4WD track through the island now.
