Don't know why one particular poster (not Banjo) thought this thread required his obviously unbalanced political opinion but for the record:
Some have short memories. I for one won't forget Abbott's (& Hockey/Corrman) infamous "there will be no cuts to pensions, the ABC, Medicare etc" entitlement budget.
Best available numbers suggest that the ABC has been cut by $783M in 8 years (to 2022). That's nearly $100m per year under the Coalition, even as costs increase. Likely that wage costs have risen sfa under their "management" - can't be bothered checking their Annual Report but that's generally been the case for Australian workers. Good luck running a decent media organisation and attracting and keeping quality staff with cuts like those.
