Cheapest diesel and safe free camp across Nullarbor

We are in a 4wd towing a large caravan, thank you for the info.

In Norseman, there is a store with pumps out the front in town. It is/was cheaper than the roadhouses. Mundrabilla, Eucla and Border Village historically the cheapest, Nullarbor the dearest. My thoughts are know the range of your vehicle and top up as you go. It usually doesn't cost a lot more. Ring ahead and find out what their prices are if you are on a budget and plan around that.

I was suprised that Mundrabilla is no longer anywhere near the cheaper places

Hi Richard and Glids, we travelled across and back second half last year. As in previous years, coming from the west, Mundrabilla cheapest by about 12-15c then. (Mind you they run out of diesel on our way over so we had to pay 20c more at Madura) Eucla the same as Mundrabilla, Border Village is dearer. Penong still as cheap as Ceduna. We stopped at several open free camp spots listed in the Camps Australia-6, though the first good one from the west is at Fraser Range, (not the station though if you want to see a station, and pay, it is a popular spot). Yalata West is popular rest area too though no service station at Yalata now.
The Head of the Bight worth a look even without wales, $5 head pension rate.

This was mid July prices, may have altered.
Norseman- $1.65 BP
Caiguna- $2.09 BP
Cocklebitty _$2.05 BP
Mundrabilla $1.89 Mobile
Eucla- $1.89Caltex
Nullarbor - $2.04 Mobile
Nundroo-$1.62 Liberty
Ceduna-$1.55 Shell

As you can see a bit of difference so depending on your range pick the cheapest if possible. We had two stops- Caiguna - only power free showers, which was ok and Nullarbor only power and pay for shower, which was good. Make sure you find the Shell in Ceduna as it is 10cents cheaper than others.
