Marlo is at the mouth of the
Snowy River. It was initially a port town servicing the Snowy Valley, particularly the town of Orbost. It now serves as a dormitory area for Orbost and a popular fishing and holiday destination.
It has two caravan parks, a general store/
post office, hairdresser, hotel and a combined fishing tackle and coffee
shop. The
Snowy River flows past the town, with a small wharf and a launching ramp at the end of the main street.
