This peak in Alpine Ash country, is also subject to snow usually no deeper than the knee - snowshoeing generally isn't suited due to the rocky terrain. You'll find great
views from the peak across the alpine ash ranges and
Lake Eildon to the north. Mount Torbreck also has an interesting history, as it was the site of the RAAF Avro Anson plane crash on the 16th May 1940 and the
ruins can still be seen.
