Mount Torbreck stands at 1516m above sea level and offers a grade 3 circuit hike of 3.7km from the Barnewall Plains
Campground.
The trail is moderately challenging & hiking poles are recommended for the descent.
During winter road closures may restrict access to this start point, however whilst there will be snow on the mountain the hike itself is still regularly climbed by experienced winter hikers who park and start from the Conn Gap Rd
junction - this adds another 3km to the hike making the total return distance 7.3km. This option is also recommended for people with low profile vehicles.
If driving to the site from the south you will require 4WD for high clearance, otherwise it is readily accessible from the north where you will park at the
gate and walk the extra distance to the start.
The walk is also dog friendly and has excellent
wildflowers during spring.
