Table Cape
Lighthouse and houses for staff were completed in 1888 and the light commissioned. The
lighthouse structure is 25 metres high and stands 180 metres above sea level. The light is visible up to 16 nautical
miles to sea, depending on visibility.
The light is one of three on this part of the coast, the other two being
Burnie and
Stanley. Tours are available during the Tasmanian tourist season. It is closed in winter.
