Kambuwal
camping area, nestled in among trees and
granite rocks, has more intimate sites suitable for small trailers and various-sized tents. Tent sites have dedicated fire pits and picnic tables attached to their site.
Kambuwal
camping area is situated 300m south of the Girraween
Visitor Centre, on the southern side of Pyramids Road. Kambuwal
camping area can be reached by conventional vehicle. In some cases, it is not possible to park near your tent site.
Camp site surface is hard decomposed
granite soil, dirt, grass.
Facilities include shower cubicle (BYO Shower and water),
toilets, unfiltered water (treat before drinking) and dedicated picnic tables and wood barbecues for some tent sites. The Kambuwal
camping area amenities block has wheelchair access together with PWD facilities including a
toilet and shower cubicle (byo portable shower and water). As rubbish
bins are not provided you must take your rubbish with you when you leave. There are no powered sites. Dogs are not permitted. A number of
walking tracks nearby.
Open fires in QWPS barbecues only, except where fire bans in place. Generators not permitted. Mobile phone coverage not available.
