This site is one of many designated camping areas in
Dirk Hartog Island National Park. Online bookings required. No fires permitted at any campsites in the national park. There is a hut and
toilet.
This site is somewhat similar to Urchins Point - the site is large and open and offers plenty of room for setting up camper trailers. The site site features some uniquely large
rock boulders which give the site its name (
The Block) and are believed to have been deposited here during a tsunami. The shoreline off the main beach front features a spectacular rockshelf and natural lagoon created by the reef that protects the shoreline and would make an exceptional snorkelling location on calm days.
From the shoreline, a sandy 4WD track heads south to
West Point.
Whilst popular with people fishing, it has many other attractive features for all visitors.
