This portable steam engine was lowered to the
mine site from McMillans Track. The engine powered a small 5 head stamp mill to treat ore from the New Good Hope
Mine. This adit from the Crooked River side of the spur attempted to intersect the rich reef being worked on the Good Hope Creek side of the spur however this was not achieved.
Removed from the site in the 1980's was a kerosene fuelled single cylinder engine which powered a small generator used to light the
mine, believed to be one of the first to be lit by electricity.
