Yes but depends on what you call comfortable, you could do it but it would mean being on the go all the time with some days being shorter and other day pushing hard.

1 day Alice to Mt Dare.
2 to 3 days Mt Dare to Birdsville.
1 day Birdsville to Leigh Creek or Coober Pedy.
1 day Leigh Creek or Coober Pedy to Adelaide.
1 day Adelaide to Melbourne.

You could lob another day and a bit off if driving from just after sunrise to just before sunset.

I've done it via the Plenty Highway if you don't want to cross the Simpson. Easy in 7 days that way. Mike

no worries. The Simpson is tough going at the moment by all accounts. I was going to cross next week but have made other plans. Cheers

I’ve just done it a little over a week ago.Alice Springs across the Plenty and Donohue to Boulia then down through Bedourie to Birdsville. Then out and down the Cordillo Downs Road to Nappa Merie (The Bourke & Wills Dig Tree) and to Innamincka on the Cooper. From Innamincka you can go Via Orientos, Santos and Tibooburra to Broken Hill and then Mildura to Melbourne or head straight down the Strzelecki Track to Leigh Creek, the Flinders and then either through RenmarkMildura to Melbourne or through Adelaide to Melbourne. A week comfortably while seeing all the sights along the way.

Cheers Mick

1 day if we have no more rain.

2 to 3 days if we have rain and it depends if they close the track.

It's about 500k and you should be able to sit on 90 to 100k with little problem.
