I gave the MRF's a work out this past week on Warraweena Station(Flinders Ranges) over 200km of rough bush tracks and some short bits of cross country stuff and they came through unscathed. Drove up to a radio mast and found myself in some country where the rock flakes stick out of the ground (see my rig pic) and had drive over them to turn around (rather than reversing 300 metres down hill).

I ferried individual artists of a group around the property to vantage points and they enjoyed perfect weather for the 7 days with cloudless temps around 25 C each day and gentle breezes. They all camped in the Old Homestead while I slept in my truck.

Cheers

Hi Willem,

Thats my next step- MRF. I want to run both Cooper STT and MRF. Is that with split rims or tubeless and what width??

Just had a ball in the South Simpson (2660 kms Birdsville to MtDare) and leave today (hopefully for the North Simpson - Madigan, GeographicCentre, Geosurveys etc for May.

We were in Peterborough on the Friday night Judith was interviewed on the radio, the time of the art exhibition, so didn't bother you. We will see you next time through.

Cheers

youl love those tyres! - no more paper thin sidewalls. I suffered 3 punctures all to the shoulders cruising the yowie rocks track with the supposedly tough MTR tyres a trip which i had done previosly mith the MRF without incident including a fairly tough sidetrack out to the 2nd highest point on the Kalgoorlie 250k mapsheet

So Willem, have you got the tyres on splits? Do you think some of your previous radials would have performed as well? Did you brave travelling the bitumen on the crossply MRF's and if so, do you still have hearing? How much were they? Do you still carry a puncture repair kit?
