Me too Viv - i drem while i sit here and think it nearly 8am and the kids havent had breaky...still in last nights nappy and are whinging cos they are hungry!!!

Im just dreaming of the trip we now cannt afford to do - the savannah and g.r.r etc....then the simpson.....one day....one day....

Dear Chris,

It's been a bit the same for me too. We did a week either side of school holidays plus the holidays, until the kids were in the higher levels of school. From then on we went by ourselves and the longest we've taken is two months. That was great!

I'd much rather be talking trips than doing the housework. That's fairly obvious because I'm still here!! In my defence, I've been doing housework as well, just in short bursts so as not to tire myself out!!

We hope to get to the Warraweena get together in July and then perhaps in Aug/Sept do a Simpson Desert trip. Sort of in the early planning stages now.

Dear Viv, We did the Simpson last September and loved it. We are heading off again in July.Get your desert parks pass a month or so before you go as it does help with info and planning. Chris.

Would be interested in a few details of your Simpson trip such as which way you went etc etc. I've got friends who are going on the French Line only but I thought we would try a combination.

We went East West and stuck to the French line with a few side trips. Our friends hadn't calculated their fuel accurately so we couldn't do the Rig road as well. Be very careful with fuel as we had to give them a jerry of ours and even our trek leader got into Mt. Dare on the smell of a rag! Purnie Bore was a nice overnighter. Dalhousie has all the facilities but no shade. Our trip was a very hot one. Up around 40 some days. Don't forget your fly net. What else can I help with? Chris.

Just as well plotting requires our sense of adventure and enthusiasm because potting requires water and that's a lot harder to come by at the moment!!

As for your cartoon, it definitely doesn't refer to you, Doug as I'm sure you're a gentleman and never a creep!!

Hello Motherhen,

What I enjoy about the forum is the chance to read, learn and talk about travelling. There isn't much of an opportunity to do that amongst my friends and acquaintances. They think that actually going on a "driving" holiday is strange enough without going to somewhere they've never heard of!! It gets so frustrating. Then when you come back they look at the photos with their eyes glazed and flip the pages quickly so you know they have been taking nothing in!

It's such a welcome relief to find a group of people who are actually interested in where we've all been and how we did it etc etc.

I hope that this year you get another chance to get "on the road".

Have a good trip out to Eulo etc. Sounds like a really good way to spend the Easter Break.

Also best wishes for all your retirement plans. We've got plans for five years time when we get some long service time due. Maybe it might even be time to think of retirement then! Would like to think so.

I work in a Pharmacy, love my job, but still look forward to the days when we can just head off whenever we like.
