Isn't Coward Springs on the Oodnadatta Track?

Coward Springs was on the Oodnadatta track last week when I came through but i think A & J were referring to the Birdsville track for their other crack. And as for the others that pass you at warp speed and shower you with rocks etc after you have pulled over to let them pass, incredibly arrogant, rude and selfish, didn't cop any damage luckily.

It's usually vehicles coming towards you that break screens and as some have said they do 100kph, it’s hardly surprising.

The one south of the border was a passing vehicle towing a CT.
I could see it coming up behind us so pulled over and was practically stopped when it went past at about 90 to 100kph
Bang went the rock and that was it for the windscreen!

Unfortunately, pulling over seems to encourage them to pass as close as possible to me.

Perhaps they want to stay on the correct side of the road, after all, they can only see clear road for 3 k ahead.

No more slow down, then move to at least the centre of the road, to avoid the meteor shower on the considerate bloke who has made it easy to get past.

The other pita is when I see approaching traffic I slow and move to the left and the richard craniums then go straight down the middle at 100kph.

My answer to this is to stay away from the far left until they are about to go by and move right over left just as they arrive. This keeps a lovely space between me and them

M34 like you ... when I make the decision to get out of the way of other traffic I make sure I am well WELL off the road don't want some clown running into me in the Dust...

That's right, if I don't wave it's because I think they're nitwits too. It's too common, and like that old saying, "you don't know you're dead, but everyone else does, it's the same with stupid".
