Just wondering if any of the Qld. locals could recommend any good
free camping sites with access to freshwater fishing. After picking up my brother on the
Gold Coast, we will be heading out for about 3 weeks through St. George, thru
Cunnamulla or
Mitchell to
Charleville, on to
Blackall &
Longreach. Sir Kev has kindly suggested 2 possible locations near St. George & I am open to suggestions to hopefully get the benefit of some local knowledge along the route.
Return route is flexible depending on any suggestions I get for good fishing.
I am fully self sufficient & towing an off-road caravan which will go most
places my Patrol will go. In the past most of my camping/fishing trips have been near the sea & I realise that local knowledge is useful for both recommending
camp sites & being aware of seasonal variations in seawater fishing (don't know whether this also applies to freshwater fishing ?? )
