Free camping opportunities are available for 4WD vehicles all along
the entrance track right up to
the gorge opening with the best spots usually right up the end of the track near the
rock face where the water will remain in a small semi-permanent
pool long after the rest of the De
Grey river has dried up for the season.
If you aren't towing and have reduced tyre pressures you might also successfully be able to drive over the dry river bed to the grassy areas under large gum tress on the eastern side. Be warned however as it is exceptionally easy to get bogged here and is not recommended if towing anything, even light camper trailers.
No facilities so leave no trace.
