Surrounded by glorious mountains, the Settlers Arm Inn which was established in 1836 was built from
sandstone in Georgian-style architecture. The hotel nestles alongside the Macdonald River within the tiny village of St. Albans. It used to be a frequent stopover for Cobb & Co. stagecoaches travelling between
Sydney and
Newcastle in the 19th century.
Today the Inn is an alternate gateway to the Hunter Valley wine districts and is popular with both day trippers and those seeking multiple night accommodation. The Inn has an Australian country style cuisine which is available 7 days a week. The hotel features a saltwater swimming
pool, a cozy fireplace, jazz music on Sundays, bike riding and much more.
