Semi-permanent
pool on Watrara Creek. Good camping here.
This
pool is situated on the Watrara Creek and is about 400 metres walk west along the creek from Tjingkulatjatjarra (or Tjarra
Pool for short)
Pool. It is a wide sandy stretch of the creek about 250 metres long that often holds water late into the year. There is no vehicle access to
the pool so camping is by walking your stuff in or trying to push your vehicle through the rough stuff. The main
pool is at the western end of the basin and there is a second, smaller but connected
pool on
the junction of a smaller creek coming in from the north. The creek is shaded by white trunked gums and a rocky
hill on either side.
May 2023 - There is vehicle access to Watrara by following the track around the southern side of the
hill behind Tjarra
Pool. Head south on the track to Curran Curran etc. Within a few hundred metres you'll see the track branching off to the right (west). Follow this for 600 metres and it will take you round the
hill to the western end of Watrara
Pool.
