Most people think of the giant coastal redwood trees when they think of the
Otways (which were introduced) but in the the Olangolah Flora and Fauna reserve (1490 ha) you'll find old growth Mountain Ash which is native to the area.
When you turn off the Colac –
Apollo Bay Road, the first 6-8 km is the Olangolah Flora and Fauna reserve. Turton’s Track goes through it. You do not have to have a 4WD or adventure bike to observe the trees in this area. It’s all sealed road but very narrow and restricted to 40 km/hr speed limit.
