The
Yeagarup Dunes are some of the largest is the South West. The track in to
the beach passes over the dunes and lower tyre pressures are necessary. There are marker poles leading the way and you are requested to stay within them to assist in preserving the vegetation. Travel time from
Yeagarup Lake to
the beach is around 40 minutes and is a scenic and interesting drive. The view from the top of the last
hill to the ocean is vast and
well worth the drive.
As this is a mobile dune system
the entrance to the dunes has changed dramatically over the last 12 months. In the past, after exiting the forest section you needed a bit of a run up and then had to make a sharp right hand turn out of some very soft sand to climb the
hill. Now (25.05.2013) it's just straight and doesn't require much effort or skill. Easier but not as much fun! This will definitely change again though.
