Information

Steep Point is the most westerly point of the Australian mainland. Vehicle access is by 4WD only. On the western side of the Steep Point area are the Zuytdorp Cliffs (pronounced Zurtoff), which are up to 170 metres high. From a fishing point of view Steep Point itself, is arguably the best rock fishing platform in Australia, with the main catch being mackerel and snapper.Although known to most as Steep Point, the point itself is located at the western tip of the peninsula. The official name for the area is Edel Land .
