The
Mitchell Museum, also know as the Booringa
Heritage Museum is endeavouring to preserve the
heritage of the old Booringa Shire in
Mitchell, Queensland. The museum is open from 9am until noon every day during the tourist season.
The Group is a small volunteer community group formed in 2007 whose objective was to search out, record and promote the
heritage of the Booringa Region of Queensland for the enjoyment of future and current generations.
It’s
well worth a visit and take a trip back in time while visiting
Mitchell.
The work at the museum is carried out by volunteers, most of whom are retired and are passionate about promoting and preserving the old Booringa Region’s history for the enjoyment of current and future generations.
We welcome all visitors including locals, travellers and large group tours.
The Booringa
Heritage Museum is open each day from
Easter Saturday until the end of October. The museum is open each day from 9 am – 12 noon during the opening season.
Entry is free to come and visit our museum. We would be grateful for a donation as our cause is run by volunteers.
