Information

Burke established this camp on 26/9/1860. As mentioned in Camp 29, goods and supplies were transferred to this camp which they finally left on 10/10/1860. As the wagons were no longer used members of the exploration party were restricted to what they could carry as personal belongings to 40lbs. It was observed by many had Burke accepted Captain Cadells offer (see camp 15 Swan Hill) to transport the expedition by boat up the Murray and Darling, considerable time would have been saved and the expedition would have had more supplies available to them, These constant delays and Burke's stubborness to listen to reason was to have a profound outcome later. Picture of River on Left is where Camp 30 was established. (no Plaque)
