Muloorina Station is a working cattle station of 400,000 square hectare specialising in certified organic Poll Hereford cattle. The station was originally established back in the late 1870's and is now owned and run by Trevor and Cindy
Mitchell. It has been in the same family since 1936.
Access to the station is permitted via a 2WD track - 53km from
Marree. The station allows camping along the banks of a magnificent
bore-fed
billabong, part of the Frome River. For more details see
Muloorina Station Waterhole - its one of the best campsites you'll find in this region.
A 51km track from the
Muloorina Station bore campground leads out to
Level Post Bay allowing visitors to reach the edge of Lake Eyre North (PAR No. 2). This access route can be traversed by 2 wheel drive vehicles if it has been recently graded, however, during the summer and dry periods, a 4WD vehicle is recommended. No camping at
Level Post Bay.
