Big Bend & Echo Hole - QLD

Extensive basalt formations as part of the Great Basalt Wall, a geological formation of the Toomba basalt flow (the last major volcanic activity in northern Australia) and is part of a 120km lava flow.Follow signboard at entrance to along the 4.3km circuit track. Tracks in the area are well used by 4WD ands motorbikes on weekends, school holidays and public holidays as a playground with numerous designated free campsites. Take the hike up to the lookout for great views.Entry from the Lynd Highway. There are no facilities here. Please be respectful of the land and take out whatever you take in.
