Maroochydore is yet another Sunshine Coast vacationing location as
well as a major residential and commercial centre. It includes within its area Sunshine Plaza which is the largest shopping centre in the area.
Maroochydore is located at the mouth of the Maroochy River, just north of
Mooloolaba and
Alexandra Headland. There are a umber of caravan parks in the area including a large park at Cotton Tree on the southern shore of the river, at its very mouth.On the other side of the wide river estuary is the Twin Waters Resort.
In addition to caravan parks Maroochydore offers a range of hotels, motels and holiday units, some of which are in high rise buildings set back from the coast by a block or two. There are a variety of eating
places including numerous coffee lounges, restaurants that offer fine dining and a whole range in between plus a number of parks offering picnic facilities, some with playgrounds and pools.
