Orchid Beach is a secluded village in the remote north eastern end of Fraser Island, just north of
Waddy Point. There are no tour buses, very few day-trippers and less beach traffic than the busy areas of the middle and south of the island. The small group of houses in
Orchid Beach support a number of local residents and a handful of holiday rentals. The only
shop is the
Orchid Beach Trading Post which sells fuel, bait and limited basic provisions, with alcohol available from a licensed bar. They have a public phone and an ATM machine and can give advice on local beach, track and tide conditions. There are no restaurants or cafes in
Orchid beach. Mobile phone service is available however.
