This spectacular
gorge is
well worth the visit if you are prepared for a bit of effort. Access is very tricky - it is best to leave your vehicle at a point where you have space to turn around and then walk up the track that progressively becomes rockier. You are now walking up an overgrown creek bed which spills out from the main
rock pool. The only way to proceed to the main
rock pool is to climb the rocky
hill on the left - take this to the very top and continue walking in the direction of the creek until you can see where the creek meets the main
waterhole. You can then pick your way down the rocks on the other side where you can easily take a swim in the beautiful
waterhole or just sit and enjoy. Depending on water levels you should be able to cross over at the back of the main
pool and then follow the rocks down to the lower levels. This is a beautiful area but very tricky to get to and is not mentioned in the
Newman Tourist Information Centre handout for the
Three Pools - Eagle
Rock - Kalgan Creek 4WD circuit for possibly this reason.
