After the bombing of the RAAF and QANTAS flying boats at
Broome during WW2 where both fleets were destroyed it was decided that a secure and less exposed flying boat maintenance facility was required.
Lake Boga was chosen. This extensive museum commemorates the Australian/American maintenance facility and communications
bunker that was subsequently established. It is
well worth a visit.
For those less interested in WW2 history, also present is a full service cafe and tourist facility..
