Originally a wooden building built by the Snowy Mountains Authority in the mid 1950's. This was for dignitaries to view Lake Eucumbene as its waters rose behind the Dam which was completed in 1958. But the dam is not visible from the lookout. It had facilities such as water & toilets etc, It was upgraded prior to 1963 for the Queens visit but her party stayed on the lake. Sadly the structure was demolished by NSW Nat Parks circa early 1980's. See links below for more details.
