The main walk trail from the
campground to
Mitchell Falls goes right past the side track to Mertens Falls. For those that want to swim, this is a great short walk to Little Mertens where you can also look at the aboriginal artwork. Its only an 1.6km return walk to Mertens and you can swim both above and below the falls here. Mertens features a thundering waterfall that settles in a
swimming hole in a large calm
rock pool. The area consists of
rock ledges, rapids, pools, natural spas and a fern-lined
cave. Allow 30 minutes return for the 1.6km, Class 3 walk.
