Historically, this was the site of a serious derailment in the late 1920s when the morning train from
Melbourne arrived at the former
bridge at this spot at the same time as an insland Tsunami was thundering down the creek. The
bridge here today was built in the 1940s as a repalcement of the timber trestle
bridge that would have spanned this creek. Historical notes refer to this incident happening on "Reedy Creek" so at some point this creek also changed names as it is now known as Dabyminga Creek.
