This is a walk in
campground in the
Crowdy Bay National Park. The small
campground surrounds a hut used as a writers retreat by Australian author
Kylie Tennant. There is a little more information on the website.
The
campground operates on a first-in, first-served basis and bookings are not taken. However, fees are applicable and are payable at the nearby
Diamond Head campground office.
A
toilet is provided. Fires are permitted but above ground braziers or fire buckets are preferred. BYO firewood or buy a bag at the
Diamond Head office.
Access from the north is via
Laurieton onto
Diamond Head Rd then to
Indian Head campground (about 12km). Follow a track on the right to a
gate then take a short walk to the
campground. From the south exit the Pacific Motorway about 3.5km north of
Coopernook on to
Jericho Rd, then onto Coralville Rd then
Diamond Head Rd to
Indian head campground then as above. (About 20km from the highway)
