The 10th Light Horse Cavalry was the last Australian mounted regiment to disband during WWII. The regiment was finally disbanded on 14 April 1944. During its time, 600 men with equipment and their horses camped at a site off Wanneroo Rd Neerabup. Today, a trail provides a lasting tribute to the brave men who played an important role in patrolling possible enemy landing sites and protecting the Western Australian coastline from the threat of Japanese sea attack. Wandering along this 1.3km track you can imagine what it was like during war time. Interpretative signs along the trail describe various life in the
camp.
