Very pleasant, narrow, extended river flats shaded by open Peppermint, Manna Gum,
Blackwood & wattle over short green grass. Good gravel access track. Surrounded by the forested foothills of the alps.
Dogs are permitted, but must be on a leash. Limbs may fall, take care.
Nature being nature, sometimes conditions can change at short notice. It’s a good idea to
check ahead of your visit for any updates.
Early gold mining activities can still be seen in the surrounding area. The tunnel built in 1884 diverted water from the Howqua River along a water race to power a waterwheel used in the processing of gold.
