This is a dark and mysterious
waterhole situated in an isolated
gorge. The
rock hole is sheltered by high rocky walls affording it shade and the ability to keep water for a longer period than many exposed
rock holes in the arid
Pilbara.
The
waterhole itself penetrates beneath the overhanging
rock faces and has a rocky bottom preventing seepage.
Nearby is a
cavern and
cave with signs of regular habitation by traditional owners of long ago. Grinding stones are present as
well as very faint remnants of
rock art.
This is an amazing place to which no roads yet exist. Please tread lightly any who visit.
