Since 1904 the rather magnificent Hydro Majestic Hotel has stood between the Great Western Highway and the sheer drop into the Megalong Valley at
Medlow Bath. Built by
Sydney retailer Mark Foy, it had a reputation for glamour and grandeur second to none in the area. But it fell on hard times and was closed for a number of years.
Recently it has been renovated, extended and reopened, with much of its former glory restored.
One addition is a large pavilion that hosts functions but that also contains a combined
general store type retail outlet, museum and cafe/coffee
shop. The old boiler house has been renovated and now contains the Boiler House Restaurant.
