Information

Bronco yards are situated a short distance south of the Durbai Creek. There were the eastern most yards of the Billiluna Lease established and run in the 1920's by Joseph Condren the first cattleman in the area and founder of Kilangkarra (Billiluna) Homestead at Billiluna Pool on the Sturt Creek.

Billiluna Station was a cattle station with a strong history attached to the Canning Stock Route. In 1922, together with Tim O'Sullivan, Condren was killed with his own rifle, by an Aborigine man named Banjo whilst they were branding cattle at Bronco Yard. They were buried nearby and exhumed by the investigating party some weeks later (now interred at or near Homestead Tank).

A rarely used track joins this site with Homestead yard to the west.
