Condren
Pool is a long shallow
pool situated in the Durbai Creek. It is named after Joseph Condren the first cattleman in the area and founder of Kilangkarra (Billiluna)
Homestead at
Billiluna Pool on the
Sturt Creek.
Billiluna Station was a cattle station with a strong history attached to the
Canning Stock Route. In 1922, together with Tim O'Sullivan, Condren was killed with his own rifle, by an Aborigine man named Banjo whilst they were branding cattle at Bronco Yard a few kilometres east of this location.
There are no tracks into
the pool, a long disused survey and access track exists about 1.2 kilometres to the south of
the pool. This track runs between
Homestead Yards and the site of
Bronco Yards.
