Small level clearings on a ridge nose above Lake Tyres. Good shade,
well off main roads and tracks. Probably the best of the 3 Lake Tyres Forest Park sites.
Trident Arm is thickly timbered with Silvertop, Gippsland
Grey Box and Red Ironbark extending to the lake edge with limited undergrowth (spring
wildflowers).
Black swans, waterbirds and kookaburras are common, as are wallaby and wombats.
Fishing offers Bream,
garfish, skipjack and flathead.
Access from Pacific Hwy: South down Lake Tyres House Rd (creek gravel, bumpy) 10.5k, right (west) 1.5k down the Trident Track (formed earth, smooth, narrow), left 300m on signposted "camping area" track. (Access tracks may be too narrow & twisty past trees for caravans/big rigs)
