Hi All,

Just researching our trip back across Australia from Broome to the Whitsundays and came across this:

What's This

It's on the Pentecost River, along Karunjie Road.

So anyone know what it is?

Cheers

I believe its a private fishing club camp. I saw the sign but cannot remember what was on the sign. The sign was on the karunji Track just after the dried up swamp section when travelling in an anticlockwise direction around the Cockburn Range.

No worries Happy it helped. Not much info. Maybe try a google with "pentecost fishing camp" as the parameters.

And I thoroughly recommend the full 360 degrees drive on ALL the Karunjie Track if you ever get up that way. Time it to start at the gate on the GRR at dawn and travel clockwise to end up at the Pentecost River crossing on the Gibb at sunset. Top scenes of the Cockburn Range with the sun behind you all day.

Cheers

Thats part of El Questro.

"Club Mud" it was known as.

Looks a little bigger now then it used to be.

Kind of a fishing/secluded camp.

Was big dollars to stay there.

Thanks all.

Found it was called "Mt Cockburn Lodge" from a 2005 brochure from El Questro.

I presume it's now no longer part of El Questro as it no longer appears on their web site or brochures.
