Hi All,

Chasing ideas on where to go camping over the June Longweekend. We will have 5 days and would be leaving from Kalgoorlie WA.

We are relatively new to WA, but have been to Esperance a few times already and have done the Holland Track and Wave Rock and a quick trip of the south coast from Esperance to Margaret River via Pemberton.

We are fully self sufficent and dont like crowds or caravan parks. Has anyone got any ideas on (bush camping) places to go within 10hrs driving of Kalgoorlie?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Rusty

If you are based in Kal then there are a few places you could go for the weekend

Lake Rason is a good trip, Exit from Laverton and approx 230kms East
There is a shack out there and a fair bit to see depending on your intersts

Very remote so you may not see anyone the whole time.

Lake Ballard, Some statues there

Just look around the general area north east of Kal on a map and go have some fun

Hi John,

When I was there in 2006 it was dry.
Hope you had a good trip.

Cheers

Quoin Head, in Fitzgerald NP. Near Hopetoun. or Munglinup Beach, theres some great tracks from there, if you want more isolated, hit the tracks at Munglinup and head to twinnies, 25km east, great isolated camp spots.
