Hi all, I am going to
Goulburn for
Easter and was considering coming
home to the
Gold Coast via
Bathurst, Dubbo etc. Does anyone know what the road from
Goulburn via Taralga and
Oberon to
Bathurst is like. I will be towing a tandem trailer with a car on it.
Thanks in advance Allan

Have not driven the road, but have had cattle delivered from
Orange on a 12 ton truck, so would assume you would not have a problem with a trailer.
Have driven from
Goulburn to
Orange via
Tuena, a little dirt and twisty, but no hassle for a trailer.
Enjoy a beer at the
Tuena pub, has a great history and the saloon bar is about 6' long.

Thanks Pling, the
Tuena pub sounds great but will leave that for another time.

All sealed but extremely steep climb of about a k up out of the Abercrombie river. Which I think they advice caravans to advoid. The other road is more hilly but no super steep hills. You can also travel to yass then boorawa, Cowra. What are you towing with?
Cheers Pete

Allan,
You will be fine, just take it easy up and down the steep section into the Abercrombie River. Trucks use it all the time and we tow our caravan from
home in
Bathurst to Bateman's Bay on this road all the time.

Allan
You will be fine mate logging trucks use that road. I am heading off tomorrow that way from
Bathurst to
Goulburn and back on Sunday. I will post if there are any road works etc you need to know about.
Took us about 2 1/2 hours last time, would be a little longer towing a van.
Regards
Jason

Gday Allan
We just returned from our trip mate and the road is fine. There is a little bit of road work and about 300m of dirt near
Oberon other than that, you will have no worries.
It took us 2 hours travelling safely all the way.
Regards
Jason

it will not be a problem, if your trailer is set up correctly & legally for the weight your towing
I travel it & tow a 7.5mtr craft 3Ton, with my 6 wheeler patrol 4.2D, yes it is steep but its not that bad at the Bumaroo ford which use to be a great spot to spend the night years ago, & a good
swimming hole (southern east side) but its like a tip now
remember it is likely to be very busy being
Easter
have a good trip
