In just over a week we will be moving to Two Wells in SA and entering the world of retirement (small acreage and a big shed!). So to Forum members we have met in Qld, thanks for your friendship and maybe we will catch up again at national gatherings (Broken Hill in September - it's not far off)

Agree with Barry F, you will wonder where you found the time to go to work, but be ware there are a lot of organisations out there that rely on retires to get things done, and they will rope you in, and that's when you say to your self,
"I'm busier now than when i was at work"
Congratulations on the retirement, it's a great club to belong to.
Cheers
Baz
We will be at Silverton also.
Go caravaning, life is so much shorter than death.

We had a ball at St George plus we have never been into Silverton yet so there is a lot to look forward to. We should be well settled into the new house and getting itchy feet by then :)

Hi Wim, long time no talk - been too busy working. How's tricks? Going to be in Birdsville from 21 (next Thursday - I'm counting) and Ian will be there all week. Retirement not what you think - ha ha, hope we see more of you then.

Hi Ruth
I was talking to Kim from the pub on the weekend, looks like the tide is still in out that way.
All the best

Hi Ruth.

No Simpson for me this year. We leave end of May for Coburg.
I will get my desert fix latter in the year when we go to Silverton via Haddon cnr and the borders.
I plan to be back in the Simpson next year and do a Hay/Binns combination.
Will you & Ian be going to Silverton?
David indicated still a lot of water between Birdsville & Big Red, let alone out to Eyre creek.

All the best.

Ray, the tide sure is out. Ian will drive through on Sunday with a bit of paddling but water dropping quickly this week - frome ast into Birdsville. We won't even be able to get out to Big Red this trip - not even going overland like normal when there is a flood. We will just have to camp on the sand dune at the back of the Tip!
Wim, I'm back at work (in Canberra a lot) and I will fly out on 21st and drive back with Ian. Hoping the water's down enough to get into our yabbie hole - won't be any fishing way too much water. Eyre Creek is just UNBELIEVABLE.
Will catch up on email when I get back.
Taking the mobile phone (!!!!), camera and computer - can't wait to see the sand. R.

Hi Mikee5

All the best with your trip and retirement? . . as said by others before, when you retire you don't know where the spare minutes will come from.

Hi Ruth

From the recent photos that Kim had the water on the east side was at the Medical Centre. Heading west I don't think you would get far past the outer suburbs . .LOL.
He was saying though that supplies were getting a bit scarce.

All the best, may catch up this year when out there, I'll keep an eye out for the pups being rounded up by the cat/kelpie. Or was the cat/kelpie just showing you the way back to the food bowl?
Cheers

Hi Mike, All the best with it mate.

That's a quantum leap from "beautiful one day, perfect the next" to South Aussie.

Mind you I like SA and am going there again next holiday in Sept Oct.

I can thoroughly recommend retirement mate. It grows on you very quickly. Ha ha ha ha. Love it. Retired last June.... pension Next month for me.... Yahoooooo!!!

Cheers, and all the best in the future,
Bruce.

Hi Mike

All the best with your new life and new home. You will find Two Wells a very friendly town, not far from the big smoke, yet far enough out to give you that country feeling.

Now you will have 4 distinct seasons. Be warned, winter has come early and it will not be long before we have the fire going. We are only an hours drive up the road.

Cheers

Stephen

Thanks for the good wishes Stephen. Not really looking forward to the frosts, but a complete change from incessant humidity.
