Strzelecki/Birdsville/Oddnadatta track conditions

Hey all, have been planning a trip to Lake Eyre via Strzelecki (coming up through Cameron Corner) and Birdsville tracks, and then on to Coober Pedy via the Oodnadatta. Leaving in the last week of March and right now things don't look good with tracks washed out and closed.

Wondering if anyone with a bit of local knowledge has theories/predictions on whether my intended route is likely to be a bit drier in a month or so's time?

Cheers

Tommo

Tommo

You are not going to get through from Cameron Corner to Merty Merty for some time yet. That track is just all torn up. It rained again over parts of it last night. Moomba got 27mm in just 15 min yesterday afternoon and it headed down that way.
As for the rest I can't comment.

Hi Tommo,
Just saw your reply about the Birdsville Track, we were heading up that way about jJune but looks like we will have to go another way. Thanks

Dunno about that Vince, I would think the Birdsville Track should be right in June. Even now the main track is open, just 4WD only.

I'm probably more worried about the Strzelecki and the top end of the Oodnadatta.
