I just want to thank you guys for all your replies in regard to me deciding what to buy. I have just ordered a brand new Hyundai Terracan from my local dealer here in
Bathurst. They really looked after me with a changeover from my VX Commodore. I have spent about 5 weeks doing my sums and
test driving and finally decided the Terracan was the best for my needs. I will be like a kid with a new toy for a while and looking forward to doing a bit of easy "Off Road" driving at first. Plenty of spots around
Bathurst for me to try it out. Once again thanks for the help and keep up the good work on this
forum. It makes great reading every day.
Cheers
Brian (The Bigfella)
PS. If any of you are ever in
Bathurst please call in to my homebrew
shop as there is always a cold beer on tap.

Hey Bigfella, my nsw based work colleague lives at wallerawang, so next time i am up there we shall drop in, he loves having his arm twisted, and i am not impartial to a cold one or ten !!
On the subject of homebrew, i have seen a plastic still which uses two plastic containers and a temp regulated immersion element, and can pump out spirits fairly quickly and easily - have you got anything like this ?? Cheers BradLife is short- but there's always time for a yarda.

I am a
home brew consumer. When I retire I plan to become a `
Grey Nomad` or a ` Saads ` ( see Australia and die syndrome! ) Is it possible to have a brew fermenting whilst travelling in a carravan or not . I would envisage having the fermenter barrel tied down to stop it overturning etc, but would the motion of the caravan have any detrimental effect on the brew or not? Regards G.T.

Hi G.T.
So you don't get confused the name Bigfella and Brian is the same person. It is just that I do some posts from
home and some from work.
Now being the passionate homebrewer that I am I would not recommend letting a brew ferment while travelling in a caravan. Firstly brewing temperature is very important (20 to 25 Degrees) and the air temp in a caravan could get quite high on a hot sunny day. Also the brew sloshing around in the fermenter will possibly introduce too much oxygen in the beer while it is moving around. This will introduce off flavours to your beer.
My suggestion is by all means take you brewing gear with you and if you are spending a lot of time on the road then set up for a week and put a brew down and let it ferment out while you are out fishing, relaxing, having happy hours and all thoise other terrible things we do when on the raod. If you want any more homebrewing info then E-Mail me at bigfella@lisp.com.au

I have just sat down in front of the computer for the first time in a week . Thank`s for your reply, I thought that there would be reasons why you could`nt do it on the run , so to speak. Nothing left to do but stay in one spot and watch it ferment with a brew i my hand. Regards G.T.
